West Midlands team featured on careers and sustainability panel at Telford school

A Telford-based school has recently hosted our West Midlands team, who were featured on a panel discussing careers and sustainability.

West Midlands' Engineering Manager, Kate Mackenzie, spoke to A-Level students at Thomas Telford School about the opportunities available within the housebuilding industry and how the sector is driving sustainability.

The event helped to introduce the pupils to a selection of jobs, sharing experiences and stories with them as well as advising them on the current job market. Kate aimed to provide pupils with a realistic insight into different career paths; giving information which will, in time, help them to make informed decisions about their careers.

Kate Mackenzie, Engineering Manager at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “What we do is about so much more than building quality homes; it’s also about ensuring that we support the workforce of the future and create jobs in the communities we build in.

“It was great to deliver this talk to pupils at Thomas Telford School to showcase the variety of career options available in housebuilding.”
