Fife local begins career as trainee quantity surveyor with homebuilder
Persimmon Homes North Scotland has welcomed Jamie Stephenson, from Fife, as a new trainee quantity surveyor – proudly following in the footsteps of his father.
Jamie’s dad, Mark Stephenson, has worked as an Assistant Site Manager with Persimmon for several years, and now Jamie is beginning his own journey with the five-star builder.
In his new role, Jamie will balance studying with practical, on-the-job training. He will be paired with one of Persimmon’s experienced quantity surveyors, supporting them with commercial administration, preparing and monitoring tenders, and liaising with contractors as new sites are prepared.
James MacKay, Persimmon North Scotland Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jamie to Persimmon. It’s always inspiring to see family members choosing to follow in one another’s footsteps, and we’re proud that Mark’s example has encouraged Jamie to begin his career with us. We’re committed to developing the next generation of talent and I’m sure Jamie will make a great contribution.”
Jamie Stephenson said: “I’ve always looked up to my dad and seen how much pride he takes in his work at Persimmon, so the chance to start my own career here really appealed to me. I’m excited to be learning from experienced colleagues and building the skills I’ll need for the future.”
