Work is set to start on demolishing former office buildings in Hainault to make way for an innovative new development.
Persimmon Homes Essex have acquired a site in New North Road, Hainault, which benefits from planning consent for 86 much-needed new homes.
Persimmon will be building 52 houses for private sale and 34 apartments for those whose needs are not met by the open market.
The development will be a Charles Church-branded development and will be a flagship site for the five-star Essex housebuilder. The site will feature a contemporary design with all plots benefitting from green roofs, PV panels and air source heat pumps.
The site is located just 300m from Hainault underground station with direct links into central London.
Persimmon Homes plans to start demolition of the existing building later this year, allowing for groundworks to start in early 2026.
Richard Hush, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “This is an innovative scheme for us and an opportunity to bring a brownfield site in the heart of a busy town back into use, providing much-needed housing for families in Redbridge.”
