Carnoustie development delivers 236 homes and £1.1m education boost as Greenlaw Park nears completion

Persimmon Homes North Scotland scheme reshaped former site into major Angus community with jobs, apprenticeships and affordable housing.

A major Carnoustie housing development is in its final stages, with Persimmon Homes North Scotland’s Greenlaw Park scheme set to complete after transforming a key site on the edge of the town.

Once finished, the development will have delivered 236 homes, alongside significant investment in local infrastructure, education and employment across Angus.

The scheme includes 145 homes built by Persimmon Homes, 42 delivered by sister brand Charles Church, and a further 49 transferred to Sanctuary Scotland to help meet local housing need.

In addition, the project has contributed £1.1 million towards local primary education, supporting schools and learning facilities serving Carnoustie and surrounding communities.

Greenlaw Park has also provided a strong boost to the local economy throughout construction, creating 96 direct jobs and a further 73 roles within the supply chain.

As part of its skills commitment, eight apprentices from Dundee and Angus College were employed on the development, gaining hands-on site experience while continuing their college-based training through structured apprenticeship programmes.

Community investment has also been delivered through Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, with funding supporting the Angus Toy Appeal and Burnside Primary School.

With only a small number of homes still available, the development is now approaching full completion.

James MacKay, Regional Managing Director, said:

“This has been a major long-term development for Carnoustie and we are very proud of what has been achieved at Greenlaw Park.

“As well as delivering high-quality, energy-efficient homes, the scheme has brought significant investment into the local area, supported apprenticeships and created a lasting community legacy in Angus. As we reach completion, it stands as a strong example of how housebuilding can deliver wide-ranging benefits.”
