Your choice of beaches

If you’re moving to the seaside, you’ll want to be able to enjoy it, and with six beaches within a few miles of the town, you’ll be spoilt for choice. One of the best is just south of the town, by the seaside resort of Seaton Carew. Offering over a mile of golden sand, you can walk there all the way along the promenade from Hartlepool’s Marina.

Along with all the beaches come all the trappings of coastal life. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get out on the water with sailing, paddleboarding and sea swimming clubs, as well as a network of coastal footpaths if you’d rather remain on dry land. Fish and chips will be on the menu, with some of the best in the region available in Hartlepool.

Transport and amenities

The town is well-located, with easy access to nearby towns and cities. Middlesbrough and Durham are both around thirty minutes away by car, and Newcastle is just a fifty-minute drive away. Hartlepool is within easy reach of the M1, making it straightforward to travel up and down the country. You can also benefit from the train station, which has a direct route to London Kings Cross in around three hours and links to Sunderland, Hexham, Newcastle and Middlesborough. And there’s a good bus service around the local area.

You can find most of the major supermarkets, as well as superstores and convenience stores, throughout the town. Middleton Grange Shopping Centre will cater to all your shopping needs, with over 140 stores under one roof. For healthcare, there’s the University Hospital of Hartlepool, as well as a choice of medical centres and GP surgeries.

Modern Marina

One of the jewels is the Marina. It’s a popular attraction for visitors to the city, with entertainment facilities including the award-winning Historic Quay, which recreates an 18th-century seaport, The National Museum of the Royal Navy, and a promenade leading all the way to the seaside resort of Seaton Carew. Here you’ll also find a great choice of cosmopolitan restaurants and bars where you’ll be able to spend the evening overlooking the gorgeous new development. You’ll also have access to a wide range of shops, supermarkets and a cinema. You’ll never be far away from all the Marina has to offer from your new Persimmon house.
