Central team helps Oldbury apprentices to build success with brick donation
17 February 2025

We have supported learners at a training facility in Oldbury with a brick donation.
Our Central team has reinforced its commitment to nurturing the next generation of construction professionals at the college, thanks to the donation of bricks to Nova Training for education and training purposes.
The bricks will be used by learners at Nova Training, enhancing their practical learning and bricklaying skills. The significant contribution aligns with our ongoing investment in community and education in the West Midlands, where the developer has recently received the green light for over 1,200 homes at a number of locations across the region.
Michael Wragg, Senior Social Value Officer at Sandwell Council said: Thank you Persimmon for this kind donation of bricks. It will support the ongoing pre-employment training at NOVA training of many local learners getting them ready to enter the construction industry. It is a great example of social value support in an innovative way to add value beyond the physical development of the new housing.
Donovan Linton at Nova Training said: “With the rising cost of materials, our vision to support young people in our area has become more challenging. So, we are immensely grateful to Persimmon for their dotation. These materials are already in use by our bricklaying students.”
Neil Williams, Regional Managing Director at Persimmon Central said: “We’re delighted to have been able to donate these bricks to Nova Training, this initiative is part of our commitment to fostering local talent and ensuring learners have the materials and experience they need to develop their skills.
“We believe investing in education today strengthens the workforce of tomorrow and supports the broader community’s growth and development, and we’re delighted to work with training facilities and colleges across the region.”
“At Persimmon, we’re passionate about developing future talent and equipping young people with the practical skills they need to thrive in the working world, as well as ensuring they have the necessary theoretical background from our partnerships with local colleges.”
