When Sean Gibbs, Contracts Manager, was thinking about joining Persimmon as a next step in his career, he did his homework first. He asked around for people’s views on where the company was heading, and what it was like to work here. Having liked what he heard, Sean’s now been working at Persimmon since May 2022. So did the reality match the expectation? Here’s what he says…

From the directors down, Persimmon is really clear on where the company is and where it’s going. The single-minded goal here is to be the best house-builder in Britain. It’s a goal that everybody gets behind.

For me, the other important part is around career development. And that’s something Persimmon does incredibly well. No matter who you are, if you want it, and if you can prove you can do it, then you can get it. I’ve seen multiple examples of people getting the training and support they need to move up, particularly because Persimmon promotes from within first. Again, it’s a way of doing things that I really like.
