NPTC Group of Colleges is celebrating after receiving a financial boost to kit out its new brickwork workshop with tools.
Persimmon Homes West Wales is helping the brickies of the future by providing £2,500 to the College. The College is about to open its new brickwork workshop at its Neath College site and the money will be used to buy tools and equipment that the students can use to learn their trade.
Carl Davey, Construction Director, said: “We’re pleased to be able to support the College with this donation. We have a good working relationship with the College and we do what we can to help address the chronic skills shortage, particularly in bricklaying. We offer employment to approximately 20 students from both Neath College and Bridgend College each year and many have gone on to become key members of our workforce. They are being trained to a high standard and this new workshop will only help.”
Ian Lumsdaine, Director of Construction and Building Services at NPTC Group of Colleges said: “We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation. We offer brickwork courses up to Level 3 and the partnership we have established with Persimmon is invaluable. It allows our students the opportunity to progress from training at the College into employment. The new workshop is represents a major investment in our facilities and will help us to continue to deliver the very best training".
We are currently building homes right across South-West Wales, including in Haverfordwest, Narberth, Carmarthen, Llanelli and Rhos.
