Norfolk’s arty children asked to share lockdown portraits

Norfolk children have been invited to share their lockdown art.

Persimmon Homes Anglia has launched a competition for arty youngsters to paint or draw the person they miss most because of coronavirus social distancing. Sales director Michelle Baker said: “Being forced to stay home means that all our children have people they miss spending time with, whether that is grandparents, school friends or sports teammates. Inspired by the lovely artwork that people have been putting in their windows, we would like to share some of that lockdown love at our developments. Even though most of our sales offices are currently closed, we want to brighten up our windows too! We are asking children across our region to draw or paint a picture of the person they are missing most right now. We will display them at our sites and select our favourite each week during lockdown to receive an Amazon voucher prize to treat themselves.”

Anyone aged under 16 can enter and a copy of the picture should send an email, along with the name and age of the artist and the name of the person they miss.

Persimmon Homes Anglia has new homes developments in Bradwell, Caister, Hethersett, Martham, Norwich, Oulton Broad, Sprowston and Wymondham.

The company is currently seeking applications to two charity funding schemes – Community Champions offers donations of up to £1,000 to groups working to help the over-70s during the Covid-19 crisis, while its Building Futures initiate supports projects focused on the under-18s.
