Air ambulance gets housebuilder’s support

The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) has been selected for a community donation by a housebuilder.

The region’s air ambulance service received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire, as part of its Community Champions scheme. With each emergency call out costing in the region of £3,500, the charity is reliant on the support of the public to maintain its service.

LNAA CEO, Karen Jobling, said: “Our highly skilled doctors and paramedics take A&E care to the scene to carry out life-saving procedures when minutes matter.

“We work closely with our fantastic NHS but we are an independent charity and don’t receive government funding, so support like this from Persimmon Homes really does help us save lives.”

The Persimmon Homes Community Champions initiative seeks to support grassroots groups and charities in areas where the company is building. Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to worthy causes.

Richard Hosie, managing director for Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire, said: “Our Community Champions scheme is all about supporting the communities in which we are building. We believe the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is an incredibly deserving cause to support.
