A local provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) is the latest recipient of funding from our Wessex region.
Blue Sky Learning, based in Calne, offers a bespoke learning environment to those struggling with mainstream settings or not accessing full time education. Using a social and emotional regulation plan, it nurtures vulnerable learners to become self-regulated and ready to integrate back into mainstream education.
Louiza Bruce, from charity, said: “To receive this donation from Persimmon Homes is absolutely massive for us. We would like to purchase a laser cutter so that we can create an exciting curriculum for our learners. Pupils would be able to research, design, create and advertise their own creations for sale which would help generate an income for future opportunities.
“Laser cutters are about £3,500 second hand so this funding will go a long way towards helping us achieve our goal. We strongly believe that every child is extraordinary and that education has the capacity and the possibility to change lives for the better. The work we do is needed now more than ever and this funding from Persimmon Homes will go towards resources to support our children’s journey.”
Pauline Fletcher, sales director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Blue Sky Learning with this £1,000 donation. We really liked how the team supports learners in establishing the values, attitudes, skills and knowledge which will help them achieve success in the future. Hopefully this money will help more children across Wiltshire access the education they deserve.”
