A 21-year-old from Rugby has embarked on a promising career in construction after becoming the new Trainee Site Manager for a Northampton development.
Tom Clark joined Persimmon Midlands earlier this month and is already proving his worth at the Scholars Green site.
“I am excited to be on board with Persimmon and look forward to showing them what I am capable of,” said Tom
“My love for construction came when I was just a little boy. I used to always help my grandad build things in the garden. Construction has become almost second nature to me as my whole family work within the industry, so I guess that’s what inspired me to do the role I’m doing.”
Tom initially started his career studying engineering at college, where he then went on to complete an apprenticeship as an electrician. He joined Persimmon after being made redundant by another housebuilder and will undergo training to achieve his NVQ Level 4 in construction.
“I am really looking forward to getting stuck into my training and learning more about my role. I believe I am a driven and hardworking individual and I hope that my commitment to the role will soon start to show.”
Tom Walker, construction director for Persimmon Midlands, added: “We are really pleased to see Tom grow as he starts his training here with us at Persimmon. He has already made a huge impact on site.”
“It is important for us to bring young and enthusiastic individuals into the business who show a real willingness to work and want to be here. Tom shows just that, and we are delighted to offer this opportunity to him, especially after having his previous role affected by Covid-19.”
