Vulnerable Hampshire families will benefit from childcare and food packages during the school holidays thanks, in part, to Persimmon South Coast.
Denmead Day Care was selected by the management team at the Fareham head office to receive £1,000 through its Building Futures scheme, which supports organisations working with the under-18s.
The Denmead-based setting provides a nursery, breakfast, after school and holiday clubs for local children.
Michelle Josephs from Denmead Day Care said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for this funding, which will be used to help vulnerable families access childcare in the holidays and also enable us to provide lunch and food care packages to local families in need.
“We have been open for more than 10 years and in the last year we have opened a small food bank to support families struggling through the pandemic and its impact.”

Graeme Cole, sales director for Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “We’re delighted to help Denmead Day Care to support those who need it most within their community.
“Building Futures is all about supporting young people and youth groups in our area. We’re accepting entries until mid-August, so we’d urge more people to apply by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity”
Building Futures will deliver more than £1m to good causes across England, Scotland and Wales. The initiative aims to support community groups working with under-18s across three categories – education & arts, health and sport.
