Persimmon Homes Nottingham donated £9,000 to Derbyshire charities and community groups last year and is urging more good causes to get in touch.
The Persimmon Homes Community Champions fund supports grassroots activities that improve the quality of life for local people. The scheme enables charities, community groups and schools to apply for funding up to the value of £1,000.
Hasland Wanderers Football Club, 1st Bolsover Guides and 1st Wingerworth Brownies were all beneficiaries of the scheme last year, each receiving £1,000 from Persimmon Homes Nottingham.
In addition, New Tupton Ivanhoe Football Club was awarded £1,000, and The Elm Foundation, which supports victims of domestic abuse including young people who have experienced abuse either directly or lived in a home where it has happened, received £5,000 from the housebuilder’s Building Futures campaign, which focused on groups working with under-18’s.
Persimmon Homes is currently building 160 homes in Hasland at its Alderman Park development and believes it is important to support the local community.
Neil Follows, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “We launched our Community Champions scheme in 2015 and are very pleased to have been able to support so many deserving causes over the years.
“Many of these worthy charities, groups and schools are continuing their work through such challenging times, and with reduced funding support, so we would like to encourage more Derbyshire good causes to apply online to our scheme.”
The Nottingham team make two donations of up to £1,000 every month. Applications to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions are made online by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity
