A Gloucester village hall is a step closer to installing a new disabled ramp after receiving a cash injection from Persimmon.
Quedgeley Village Hall has bagged £1,000 from Persimmon Homes Severn Valley to make improvements to its Bristol Road building.
The donation comes as part of our Community Champions campaign. Each month we support 64 good causes across Great Britain with grants of up to £1,000.
Mike James, treasurer at Quedgeley Village Hall, said: “We’re delighted to receive this funding from Persimmon Homes. The village hall is run for the benefit of the community. It’s used for all sorts of different reasons, including infant dance classes, weight loss sessions, WI and carpet bowls. We also act as a polling station and for meals for children during the holidays.
“To improve our hall and make it more accessible we would like to install a disabled ramp. We rarely make a profit so we rely on our users, fundraising and donations to keep going. Thank you, Persimmon.”
Carly Spear, sales director at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: “We are delighted to be able to support Quedgeley Village Hall. Village halls play a vital role in communities and act as a meeting place for a huge number of people. We’re pleased to be playing a part in making this facility accessible to even more people.”
Persimmon Homes is currently building stunning new homes at Yew Tree Gardens in nearby Tuffley.
A range of two, three and four-bedroom homes are available, with prices starting from £221,495.
