Housebuilder helps Hope Hospice create forever memories

More than 150 children across Shropshire received a festive activity pack from Hope House Children’s Hospice, following a housebuilder’s donation.

The county’s hospice received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes West Midlands, through its Community Champions scheme.

The festive activity packs were sent to the families supported by the hospice and included a bauble with craft materials to create a personal Christmas decoration.

Rachel Lewis from Hope House, said: “While we have remained open throughout the pandemic, many of the children and families we support have been isolating at home, which has been really challenging for them.

“Christmas is a special time for all children and families, but we wanted to help make this one even more magical for our families.

“Persimmon Homes’ donation has helped to fund these special packs to create a forever memory of Christmas 2020. Inside is a ribbon to record the child’s height, and craft supplies to create keepsake decorations.”

Persimmon Homes West Midlands makes two donations of up to £1,000 every month to grassroots groups and charities in the areas where it is building.

Stephen Cleveley, managing director of Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “Community Champions is all about supporting good causes in the areas we are building. We are delighted to have supported the amazing work of the Hope House Children’s Hospice team.”
