Lee is new man at helm at housebuilding giant

A highly-experienced construction professional has been appointed as the new managing director of our East Wales region.

Lee Woodfine is the new man at the helm at Persimmon Homes East Wales, based in Llantrisant.

The 51-year-old said he is excited about the new role and is committed to driving quality and increasing customer satisfaction.

Lee, who is born and bred in South Wales, said: “I am delighted to have joined the Persimmon Homes team. The positive changes being implemented in the business in areas such as consistent quality and customer satisfaction have gained real momentum across the group.

‘’I want to continue the great work being done by the team and ensure the customer is always at the centre of what we do.

“The focus is to continue driving quality and making it a great place to work.”

Over the past two years Persimmon has undergone a comprehensive review of operations, resulting in the introduction of ‘The Persimmon Way’ – a national framework for construction and customer care quality which is transforming the business.

Lee, who enjoys mountain biking in his spare time, started his career in civil engineering before entering the world of housebuilding with Lovell Partnerships.

The next stop was ISG as operations manager before becoming area manager for Kier Living in 2001. Lee then worked for a private developer before returning to Lovell Partnerships, becoming regional operations director.

Lee was named MD at Waterstone Homes and later became group managing director (construction) at Jehu Group.

Persimmon Homes’ East Wales business has a completely new-look senior management team. Adam Ryan is the new land director, Wayne Morris is the new commercial director and Luke Davies has joined as strategic land director.

Adam, 39, said: “I’ve always admired Persimmon and their large investment and presence In Wales.

“With the renewed focus of The Persimmon Way and the commitment to building right, first time, every time, it is an exciting time to join the business.

“I was told about the positive culture and it resonated with me. I am looking forward to getting to know the team and getting stuck into my work.”

Persimmon Homes East Wales has several exciting projects currently in progress, including the huge 1,020-home St Edeyrn’s Village development between the M4 and the A48, close to Cardiff Gate Business Park.

Persimmon is also building 1,500 new homes on land just north of junction 33 of the M4 and is also working on 277 houses on the former Ebbw Vale Comprehensive School and College site.
