New Year - New Role

A new managing director, responsible for heading up the Persimmon Homes East Scotland business has been named this week.

Former director-in charge, Neil Parry, has been appointed to take on the role of managing director and overall responsibility for the housebuilder, based in Bathgate.

Neil, 52, will head up Persimmon Homes’ East Scotland team currently working across the City of Edinburgh, Stirling, Falkirk, East Lothian, Midlothian, Scottish Borders and West Lothian, following the recent promotion.

Bringing with him more than 37 years’ experience in the construction industry Neil accepted the top job at the start of 2021. His technical background and understanding of the wider business secured this, his second promotion in 12 months.

“I am extremely proud to be named managing director and look forward to leading the East Scotland team as we continue to play our part in the company’s ongoing growth.

“Taking on the role of managing director is an exciting challenge particularly under the current circumstances and both myself and my team will continue to focus on the safe delivery of high-quality homes and customer service.

“Both myself and my team have a clear understanding that customer service is more important than ever, and we are maintaining as much of a ‘business as usual’ approach as we can under the current restrictions,” he said.

Having started his career as an apprentice working his way up the career ladder Neil has a breadth of knowledge and understanding of the sector that stands him in good stead to lead but maintains that his approach is very much about being a team player.

“I consider myself to be a team player and want to emphasise that teamwork is the key to our success. I am capitalising on the skills we have in the team to ensure that everyone is focussed on delivering the very best for our customers, from the quality of our build through to the customer service they receive on their journey with us,” said Neil.

“Throughout the pandemic the team has shown a great deal of resilience, resourcefulness and empathy for customers and each other and while I understand that everyone simply wants to get back to normal, we are very aware that right now people need a bit of extra support.”
