Persimmon Homes has successfully finalised a land deal to bring 55 new homes to Shaftesbury.

The 8-acre site at Higher Blandford Road will include 17 affordable homes and areas of public open space.

Matt Paine, managing director of Persimmon Homes South Coast, said: “Our plans for this site include homes to suit a range of buyers, from those looking to get on the property ladder for the first time to families seeking more space as they grow.

“Shaftesbury is always popular with buyers, especially local young families keen to stay within their hometown, so we expect there to be plenty of interest when we are able to release properties for sale.”

Persimmon Homes South Coast purchased the land in December 2020 with outline planning permission. The company aims to submit a detailed planning application early this year and start on site before the end of the year.
