Housebuilder supports people living with Parkinsons

A charity which supports people living with Parkinsons has received vital funding from the Persimmon Homes team in South Midlands.

Parkinsons UK has received a cheque for £5,250 from the Studley-based housebuilder who organised a charity golf day which took place at the Forest of Arden.

The day involved 26 teams made up of 104 players and was sponsored by S&R Doocey Group, McAuliffe Group and Ashlane.

Commenting on the funding, Aaron Coleman, Regional Fundraising Manager of Parkinsons UK said: “We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes for including us in their fundraising efforts. These funds will enable us to continue the work we do in not only helping people living with the condition but also to fund vital research into the condition which can only improve the lives of people in the future.”

Paul Coles, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes and organiser of the event commented: “It was great to see our staff and our suppliers coming together for what was an enjoyable day but more importantly raising funds to support the work of Parkinson’s UK. They do an incredible job in improving the lives of people living with the condition and I’m pleased we have been able to play our part in supporting this charity.

The feedback on the event has been excellent and we are therefore looking to make this an annual event and raise even more funds for other local charities.”
