“Incredible start” as houses snapped up at Ebbw Vale development

Demand is sky high at our new housing development in Ebbw Vale – with 13 houses reserved within the first three weeks.

We’re busy building 250 new properties at Carn y Cefn, which is on the former Ebbw Vale Comprehensive School and College site on Waun-Y-Pound Road.

And sales staff have been rushed off their feet, with 13 homes already reserved by eager buyers - and a further 14 properties snapped up on the Early Bird scheme.

Victoria Williams, Sales Director for Persimmon Homes East Wales, said: “We had more than 1,000 people register an interest in these homes so we knew demand was going to be high.

“But we’ve been blown away by the response since we released the first homes to market on January 22.

“To sell 13 homes already is an incredible start – and we know there are many more people who are interested in living in this fantastic location.”

Work on the £29m project began last summer. A mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes are being built, with prices starting at £177,995.

A total of 55 of the properties will be available for social rent with housing association United Welsh for prospective tenants on the Blaenau Gwent Council Common Housing Register.

The development will create more than 200 jobs over the five-year construction period, as well as boosting the local economy by £7m per annum.

Persimmon has agreed to contribute £783,354 towards education provision, which will be split between Glyncoed and Willowtown Primary Schools.

The first people are expected to move in at Carn y Cefn in the summer.

The Government-backed Help to Buy – Wales scheme is available, an initiative where buyers only need a five per cent deposit.

Visits to the marketing suite are by appointment only. Bookings can be made online or by calling 01495 364 202.
