Persimmon goes green with LED lighting

We have reaffirmed our commitment to a greener future by installing new LED lighting at our regional office in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

Wessex have teamed up with Clarkson Evans on an exciting new project that will provide a sustainable, cost effective and environmentally friendly lighting solution.

The leading electrical contractor is set to save Persimmon around 77% on its current energy costs and reduce its CO2 emissions by over 11,400 kgs per year.

Julian Roper, managing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with Clarkson Evans on this project, it will have huge financial and environmental benefits going forward.

“LED lighting is a highly efficient way to illuminate business premises and is a significant upgrade on what we currently have in place. It also has a long-life span as a product and produces no heat or UV emissions.

“Sustainability is a key priority for us as a business as we continue to strive towards providing the best quality homes and service in the area.”

Craig Smith, from Clarkson Evans, said: “We’re proud to have worked with Persimmon Homes as its preferred electrical contractor for several years now.

“We initially completed a free of charge light survey at its regional offices and then sat down with Julian to discuss the long-term benefits of LED lighting and how it could help the business with its sustainability targets.

“Our Renewable Energy Department has been working hard on the new LED re-lighting project and we’re extremely pleased with how the work has gone so far.”
