Ribbon to be cut on new Ebbw Vale showhome

Househunters in Ebbw Vale are eagerly awaiting the imminent launch of a stunning new showhome at a major development in the town.

East Wales region is preparing to cut the ribbon on its brand new three-bedroom detached showhome at Carn Y Cefn on Waun-Y-Pound Road.

The fully decorated property is set to open to visitors on Saturday June 4.

Persimmon is building 250 new properties on the former Ebbw Vale Comprehensive School and College site.

Victoria Williams, Sales Director at our East Wales region, said: “We’re delighted to be on the cusp of opening this new showhome at Carn Y Cefn.

“We have been working on this showhome for a little while alongside our interior designers and we’re really pleased with how it has turned out.

“The opening of the showhome is always a significant milestone for any development as househunters love to walk into a real property to examine the product and to imagine how their new home could look if they buy with us.

“We look forward to welcoming people to site.”

The showhome is a Clayton style property which features a stunning open-plan kitchen/dining room and an equally impressive living room with French doors opening into the garden.

A utility room, WC and storage cupboard ensure that this home is practical as well as stylish.

Upstairs are the three bedrooms, including a large bedroom one with en suite, a family-sized bathroom and another handy storage cupboard.

Appointments must be made to visit the showhome.

Sales advisors at Carn Y Cefn have been rushed off their feet since the first homes were released onto the market in January.

Work on the £29m project began last summer. A mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes are being built, with prices starting at £189,995.

A total of 55 of the properties will be available for social rent with housing association United Welsh for prospective tenants on the Blaenau Gwent Council Common Housing Register.

The development will create more than 200 jobs over the five-year construction period, as well as boosting the local economy by £7m per annum.

Persimmon has agreed to contribute £783,354 towards education provision, which will be split between Glyncoed and Willowtown Primary Schools.

The first people are expected to move in at Carn y Cefn in the summer.

The Government-backed Help to Buy – Wales scheme is available, an initiative where buyers only need a five per cent deposit.
