Suffolk region has been granted approved for an exciting second phase of new homes at Trelawny Place, Felixstowe.

East Suffolk Council granted planning permission for 305 new homes that will complement the initial phase of 255 new homes that are already in construction in the attractive seaside town of Felixstowe. Suffolk region have also confirmed that the new second phase will also include a majority of zero-carbon ready homes.

Ian Hamilton, Managing Director of Suffolk region said:

“We’re extremely proud of the high-quality new homes we are building at Felixstowe and I’m delighted that we are able to offer even more in this charming seaside location.

“The inclusion of zero-carbon ready homes within in this second phase is also extremely exciting. To achieve this, we will be utilising a range of green technologies to maximise their energy efficiency and sustainability. This includes air source heat pumps, solar PV panels and electric vehicle charging points.

“Over £2 million will also be invested into the local community as we improve local roads, footpaths and play provision which will also benefit the whole community.”

These new homes will further help East Suffolk Council to meet local housing needs by offering a combination of starter homes as well as larger family housing, with a mix of 1-5 bedroom homes available. 101 new homes will also be offered for affordable rent or shared ownership through a housing association partner.

This phase at Trelawny Place will offer a blend of traditional and contemporary designs alongside extensive landscaping, public open space and new play facilities. Over £2m will also be directed towards highways improvements on local roads, public footpaths and local schools which will be of wider benefit to all residents leaving in Felixstowe.
