Our North Midlands welcomed the new MP for Derby South to its Buttercup Leys community in Boulton Moor to hear about its work in delivering high quality homes for local people.

Baggy Shanker MP was given a tour of the development, meeting with the team to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the housing sector, our work with local housing associations, and apprenticeships and skills within the construction industry.

Baggy Shanker, MP for Derby South, said: “Housing, especially affordable housing, is in high demand in our region. For too long, the housing crisis has kept families in overcrowded homes, denied many of their first step on the property ladder, seen rents surge and held back our economic growth.

“This Labour Government is committed to delivering a social and affordable housing boom, supporting millions of people up and down the country into a safe, affordable and decent home they can be proud of.”
