A Member of Parliament recently joined the builder behind The Parish development at Capel Llanilltern in northwest Cardiff to mark its latest on-site milestone.

Alex Barros-Curtis MP and children from nearby Creigiau Primary School’s Eco Committee joined Persimmon Homes East Wales to cut the ribbon on the new play park on the site’s second phase. They also helped plant 100 sapling trees as part of the landscaping plans.

The Enchanted Woodland Playground was designed by Amanda Spence and Rhian Thomas of Situated Studio and Analog Architecture, respectively, and commissioned by Studio Response on behalf of Persimmon.

The accredited five-star housebuilder is delivering up to 1,500 high-quality homes across this multiphase site on the outskirts of Cardiff. The scheme will also deliver a primary school, shops, offices, and sport pitches.

In August, Persimmon secured planning consent for the next 167 high-quality homes, 62 of which will be reserved for a local housing association. The approval for Phases 4B and 5A also includes the Local Centre, promised during the outline planning stage, which will deliver nearly 19,000 square feet for commercial use, as well as a new public square within this with space for potential outdoor dining, markets, and socialising.
