A popular carnival event that offers free entertainment to residents and visitors to Felixstowe on the Suffolk coast has been boosted by a donation from us.
Our Suffolk region has donated £2,000 to support the organisers of the Felixstowe Carnival ahead of the three-day event taking place this summer.
The carnival weekend offers live music, charity stalls, children’s entertainment and fireworks as well as the traditional procession.
It brings visitors to the town and generates vital revenue for local charities as well as supporting small businesses in the area.
The donation will support the organisers with the running costs.
Sarah Gooch, Chair of Felixstowe Carnival, said: “The carnival brings the community together and is the biggest annual event here in Felixstowe. Fundraising takes place year round to enable us to stage the event and this donation is greatly appreciated.”
Chris Andrews, Senior Site Manager at Trelawny Place, said: “At Persimmon Homes we want to leave a lasting legacy in the areas in which we build and we are delighted to be able to support the carnival volunteers and ensure this key event can continue.”
Trelawny Place forms part of the Felixstowe Garden Neighbourhood, which is bringing around 2,000 new homes to East Suffolk as well as a new £20million sports complex, community hub and 630-place primary school.
Persimmon Homes Suffolk built 255 new homes in the initial phase and has permission for a further 305 homes.
