Supporting grassroots football in East Sussex

We have donated £2,000 to a growing football club in Wealden through our Community Champions scheme.

The generous donation, from Persimmon Homes South East, has allowed Rotherfield Juniors to purchase new training tops for their two Under 15 squads this season.

Coach Jack Burton said: “We have two teams playing this year, at different levels and it is great to see the players so enthused. At this age they are really engaged and have made a big commitment to play for the club, so we are thankful to Persimmon for being our training top sponsor.”

Club Chairman Mark Sumner: “We are indebted to organisations such as Persimmon Homes for helping to support grassroots clubs like Rotherfield Juniors. The training tops look great and I know the players and coaches are grateful for the sponsorship.”

Presenting the cheque to the club, Christine Gabb, Sales Manager for Persimmon South East, said: “It is a pleasure to support the club and to hear about the work they do to keep young people active and engaged within their community.

“At Persimmon Homes we take pride in the fact we build more than just homes, we grow communities – and our Community Champion grants are just another way we are doing that here in Wealden.”

Persimmon Homes South East is currently building 90 homes at the Mill Cross development, in Stone Cross, Pevensey. Of the 90 new homes, 32 will be transferred to a housing association partner for those registered on Wealden District Council’s (WDC) housing list, or for those looking for shared ownership homes.
