Community centre receives £5,000 boost

A Burton community centre supporting local families has received a welcome boost.

Queen Street Neighbourhood Resource Centre, has been awarded ?5,000 from Persimmon Homes North Midlands through its Community Champions initiative.

The donation will help improve facilities at the centre, with new SEND equipment planned for the community garden. Work is expected to begin in April, with the new equipment in place by the end of May.

The cheque was presented by Kevin Pryor, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, who visited the centre to see its work first-hand.

Natasha Walker from Queen Street Neighbourhood Resource Centre said: "We would like to thank Persimmon Homes for their generous donation of ?5000 to the centre. The money will allow us to provide some much needed SEND equipment to our community garden. This will give the local community of all ages and abilities a safe space to play, grow and enjoy." 

Kevin Pryor, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said:
“It was inspiring to visit Queen Street Neighbourhood Resource Centre and see the positive impact it has on the local community. The centre provides a welcoming and inclusive space for families, and we’re proud to support their work through our Community Champions initiative.”
