Persimmon Homes West Midlands has donated £3,000 to Shropshire Bereavement Group through its Community Champions scheme, helping the charity to continue providing compassionate support to children, young people and adults living with bereavement.
Founded in 2023 by Shane Game following the loss of her two sons, Ben and Toby, Shropshire Bereavement Group was created to ensure that nobody faces grief alone. What began as a small support group meeting in Shane's front room has grown into a community-led organisation offering a safe and understanding space for people navigating loss.
This donation will help the charity continue to grow sustainably by recruiting and training more volunteers, enabling it to reach and support more people across Shropshire.
Joe Turner, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, commented:
"We are proud to support Shropshire Bereavement Group through our Community Champions scheme.
The compassion and dedication shown by Shane and her team is truly inspiring, and we hope this donation helps the charity continue its valuable work and reach even more people across the local community."
Shane Game, Founder of Shropshire Bereavement Group, added:
"We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for this donation. Losing my two sons changed my life forever and inspired me to create a service where nobody faces grief alone.
This funding will help us support more children, young people and adults, ensuring they receive the care, understanding and connection they need during life's most difficult moments."
