A local youth football team is celebrating a welcome boost after receiving a £1,000 sponsorship to support its ongoing development and activities.
Shaftesbury U14s have been awarded the funding as part of the Persimmon Homes Community Champions scheme. The sponsorship was facilitated with the help of site manager Lloyd, who is also one of the team’s coaches.
The contribution comes as work progresses on the nearby Saxon Grange development, reinforcing Persimmon Homes’ commitment of investing in the communities where new developments are being created.
The funding will help provide essential resources for the team, contributing to equipment, training, and matchday needs, ensuring players can continue to enjoy and develop within the sport.
Kim Caldwell, Sales Director, said:
“We’re delighted to support Shaftesbury Football Club with this £1,000 sponsorship. As we build our new Saxon Grange development in Shaftesbury, it’s important to us that we invest in the local community and back organisations that bring people together. Grassroots football plays a vital role in promoting teamwork, wellbeing and community spirit, and we’re proud to play a small part in helping the club continue to thrive.”
Grassroots football clubs like Shaftesbury U14s play an important role in fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence among young people, while also strengthening community ties.
