Nearly 100 new homes in Calderdale given the green light

Plans for nearly 100 new homes have been approved by Councillors in Calderdale.

Planning committee members this week voted unanimously to approve plans for 98 new homes on Soaper Lane, in Shelf.

The proposals, put forward by Persimmon, will see a mix of properties, ranging from one to four-bedroom homes.

30% of the new homes will be designated for affordable rent and discount rent homes.

Residents will enjoy three areas of public open space, providing new pedestrian routes alongside improvements to existing public rights of way.

Persimmon will also provide funding to the local authority for investment in local infrastructure.

James Parkin, Land Director at Persimmon West Yorkshire said: “We’re delighted to have these plans for new, high-quality new homes approved.

“This development will provide a range of homes from first-time buyers to downsizers which we’re sure will prove extremely popular with local homebuyers.”
