Persimmon Foundation donates £10,000 to air ambulance in Thames Valley

The Persimmon Charitable Foundation has donated £10,000 to an air ambulance charity that is saving lives across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Anthony Vigor, Chair of Trustees for the Persimmon Foundation, said:

“Every year, the Foundation identifies and selects charities that are supporting communities and we are delighted to be able to donate funding to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance this time.

“This £10,000 donation reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting charities that make a real difference to our communities. They treat thousands of patients each year, bringing hospital-level care to the scene and giving patients the best possible chance of making a full recovery.”

The average cost of each of mission is £2,500 by Critical Care Response Vehicle (CCRV) and £3,800 by helicopter and as an independent charity, the air ambulance receives no government or NHS funding, relying solely on donations from generous supporters.

Local representatives from Persimmon Homes Thames Valley presented the money at the charity’s Stokenchurch HQ and invited members of Buckinghamshire Council along to join the event.

Zellah Barrett, Trusts and Foundations Officer for Thames Valley Air Ambulance said:

“We are overwhelmed by this recent generous donation from the Persimmon Foundation. It was wonderful to welcome them to our HQ and talk to them in greater detail about how their support will be making an impact on the lives of patients who need our advanced, pre-hospital, critical care.”

Cllr Sarfaraz Khan Raja, Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council, said:

“It is wonderful to see the Persimmon Foundation supporting our community and ensuring the air ambulance can continue their vital, life-saving work.”

Cllr Shade Adoh, Ridgeway West Ward Member for Buckinghamshire Council, added:

“Thank you to the Persimmon Foundation for donating to our air ambulance and supporting the crews in their mission to save even more lives in the Thames Valley area.”
