Former Ballumbie Golf Course to be transformed into 148 new homes
Persimmon Homes North Scotland will regenerate the site of the former Ballumbie Golf Course in Dundee, delivering 148 high-quality, energy-efficient new homes and bringing a long-awaited development opportunity back to life.
The five-star homebuilder – already delivering new homes at its Stewarts Loan development on Kingsway – has acquired the site, which held existing planning permission after previously being owned by Stewart Milne Group. The new community will offer a mix of two- and three-bedroom semi-detached homes, along with four- and five-bedroom detached properties, supporting families, upsizers, and first-time buyers.
The development will contribute to sustainable growth in Dundee, with modern, energy-efficient homes designed to lower household running costs while meeting the city’s future housing needs.
Work on the new development is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
James MacKay, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said:
“We’re pleased to bring forward this new development for Dundee, transforming a former golf course into a high-quality community of 148 homes.
“Our plans will deliver modern, energy-efficient homes for local families and build on our established presence in the city through our successful Stewarts Loan development.”
The Ballumbie site regeneration represents a substantial investment in Dundee, helping to boost the local economy, support jobs, and create a lasting, sustainable community.
