Persimmon Homes becomes latest supporter of Tamworth Cricket Club

Persimmon will be the new sponsor for the Women’s and Girls cricket programme which is a key development for the club as it builds on its reputation for providing opportunities for all ages to enjoy cricket in an inclusive environment with great facilities.

Commenting on the sponsorship Mike Nield from Tamworth Cricket Club said: “We are so grateful for the support from Persimmon Homes which has given us the opportunity to develop our female programme. The sponsorship coincides with the introduction of our first hardball cricket ladies team in conjunction with Whittington Cricket Club which means we are now able to provide a complete pathway for girls who start out in the game as early as five. Having Persimmon as our lead sponsor enables us to maintain the focus and build on this exciting development for the game locally in a year when England host the Women’s World Cup.”

Emily Berville Charlesworth, Land Director at Persimmon Homes Central said: “At Persimmon Homes as well as building home, we are building communities which aligns very much with the ethos of Tamworth Cricket Club. We are delighted to help develop female participation in the sport and wish them well for the season.”

Joe Turner, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes, West Midlands said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Tamworth Cricket Club and particularly to support female participation in the game. It’s an exciting year for the sport and I look forward to watching the team flourish in their first season.

The two organisations have decided to nominate Birmingham Children’s Hospital as their charity of the year, recognising the work the charity does to support children from across the UK.
