Persimmon Homes Central region digs deep to help local North Warwickshire community allotment association

A North Warwickshire community allotment association has secured a £3,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Central region.

Smorrall Lane Community Allotments, which has been established for 46 years, received the funding from Persimmon Homes Central to expand their offering to local people.

Lee Walker of Smorrall Lane Community Allotments said: We already have a good number of members who use the allotments to grow their own produce. However, with many more new homes being built, we envisage this may increase as new families moving into the area.”

Ronan Woodbine, Technical Manager at Persimmon Homes Central said: “We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities and community groups. Being able to grow and ultimately eat your own produce is very rewarding and we are delighted to support Smorrall Lane Community Allotments as they continue to provide this valuable facility to local people in Bedworth.”
