Plans approved for new sustainable homes in Albrighton

Persimmon Homes West Midlands has secured planning approval for 88 new homes on land east of Shaw Lane in Albrighton, delivering a sustainable new community designed to support local housing needs.

The development will provide a mix of one- to four-bedroom homes, with 17 available through Affordable Rent, Shared Ownership and Discounted Market Sale. All homes will feature electric vehicle charging points and solar panels as standard, supporting the delivery of energy-efficient housing.

The site was allocated for housing within Shropshire Council’s Local Plan and already benefits from outline planning permission. The scheme has been carefully designed to reflect the character of the local area and create a strong sense of place for future residents.

As part of the development, Persimmon Homes will contribute £279,520 through the Community Infrastructure Levy towards local infrastructure and services, alongside delivering over two acres of public open space on site.

The development features a three-metre-wide cycleway running through the site, alongside new pedestrian, cycle and vehicular links to adjoining land to the east. A new pedestrian connection to St Mary’s CE Primary School will also be delivered.

Lee Perry, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, commented:

“We are delighted to have secured planning approval for this development, which will provide a range of high-quality new homes to meet local demand in Albrighton.

The scheme has been designed with a strong focus on sustainability, connectivity and placemaking, while also delivering investment into local infrastructure and community amenities.”
