£75m to be invested in Worcestershire generating hundreds of jobs

Persimmon Homes is to pump £75 million into Worcestershire creating hundreds of jobs it has been announced.
Persimmon Homes South Midlands, which operates throughout the county, is building 690 homes at four developments over the next nine years creating an estimated 1650 jobs during the process. Homes at Persimmon Heights in Bransford Road, Worcester, have been completed, while construction is underway at Hatton Grange in the city and Wyre Meadows in Pershore with the much anticipated Whittington Walk, Whittington, coming soon.
Of the £75 million, £6.2 million will go towards improving the local infrastructure.
Carol Selway, head of sales at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, said: “This is a huge investment in Worcestershire and one that will have a hugely positive effect on the local economy. t is our responsibility to aid the infrastructure of the local area and to help with the growth of Worcestershire and we’ll be putting £6.2 million of Section 106 Agreements into the county. Of that figure, £1.8 million will go towards improving roads and transport, whilst £2.2 million will help improve primary and secondary education facilities. Worcestershire, like elsewhere in the UK, is experiencing a shortfall in housing and Persimmon Homes South Midlands is going to be providing almost 700 properties at these four sites alone.
