A celebration of new homes
23 July 2020
After a lengthy period of lockdown, our homes have never been more important to us and many people are thinking about moving to a new abode. We’ve certainly seen traffic to our website and social media channels explode in recent weeks.
This year the HBF’s New Homes Week is turning the spotlight on the best ways of designing the interior of your new home.
There are many tips and hints to get the creative juices flowing, including expert advice from some of the country’s top interior designers. If you weren’t thinking about buying a new build, you might well be after checking out the content online and on social media, using the hashtag #NewHomesWeek
There are many reasons to buy a new build. Here are just four of my top reasons:
Better design – The way we live our lives has changed. We need more space and more communal areas for relaxing and socialising. New builds have been designed with this in mind. Many of the Persimmon house types boast open plan kitchen/diner areas, perfect for entertaining, as well as comfortable living rooms.
Hassle-free – When you move into a second-hand house you never truly know what work it will require until you have lived there for a couple of months. That is a worry removed with new build ownership. The property will require little maintenance in the first couple of years and our homes come with a 10-year NHBC warranty, giving you ultimate peace of mind.
Energy efficiency – We all want to be greener and new build properties are much more energy efficient than their older counterparts, with up to 60 per cent less CO2 emissions. There is likely to be better loft, floor and wall insulation which all adds up to lower energy bills. It’s a real win-win.
Make your mark – A new build is effectively a blank canvas. Once you’ve let the house settle, only your imagination is holding you back. Hours of fun can be planning the design schemes and finishing touches in each room.
