A labour of love for mum looking for houses for sale in Rotherham
12 July 2011
Mum of two, Laura Hardy took ‘nesting’ a step further when she decided to call in at Persimmon West Yorkshire’s Bridleway development on her way to the hospital to give birth to her second child.
Living in a two bedroom house with her partner, Jason, and 18 month old daughter, Jessie, was a squeeze and with a fourth family member on the way there was one thing the family urgently needed - more space.
“When we had Jessie she almost took over the whole house and her nursery was bursting at the seams. So when I found out I was pregnant again I knew there was only one thing for it; we needed to move.” Says Laura.
Having spent most of the pregnancy house hunting, Laura started to worry that they would never find a home with enough space for their growing family. With only a few days remaining until her due date, Laura saw an advert in her local newspaper about a new housing development nearby and she planned to go and pick up a brochure from the marketing suite at Bridleways.
Laura continues: “My Dad had popped around to the house to give me a lift to Bridleways, but just as I started to leave the house I went into labour.”
Laura’s father was keen to get his daughter to hospital but also didn’t want her to miss out on the dream family home he knew she’d be hunting so long for. So making a detour past the development on Laughton Common, he collected a brochure of its four bedroom, detached houses for sale in Rotherham.
Just five weeks after the birth of new arrival, Jodie, the family of four moved into the four bedroom, detached Eskdale home at the Bridleways development and instead of needing more space, Laura’s only wish is to have more sleep.
