Persimmon Homes

A new team to spearhead our South Midlands office

21 August 2014

Persimmon Homes South Midlands is poised for a smooth transition as it welcomes a new senior team.

New Managing Director for Persimmon Homes South Midlands, Andy Peters, has successfully taken the reigns in what is one of our most successful regions.  Within days of joining the business Andy met with each member of his new team and visited all 23 sites under his management.

Andy said: “This is a fantastic region with an extremely strong team who are dedicated to the construction and sale of high quality homes.  Business in this region has increased by 39% against last year’s figures bringing with it exciting opportunities and the need to recruit talented new people.

“Unfortunately my appointment coincides with the retirement of two of my senior directors, Alison Reading, Sales Director and Construction Director Martin Howard.

“Alison and Martin are consummate professionals who have worked tirelessly over the last 25 years to continually driving up sales levels and build quality in the South Midlands.  Both of them will be sadly missed by us all.”

Alison said: “ I am really looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life but it won’t be easy to leave behind the fantastic team that I have worked alongside for over 25 years.  I am extremely proud of what we have all achieved here in the South Midlands and wish them every success in the future.”

Speaking of his retirement, Martin Howard added: “I am confident that I am leaving the team in very capable hands but it will be a wrench when I retire in December.

“The team have supported me both professionally and personally over the years and I will miss working with them all.  They will undoubtedly continue to produce award winning houses and I wish them the best of luck for the future.”

New Construction Director, Andy Harper and Sales Director, Alastair Parsons,  joined the South Midlands team on 7th July and will work alongside Alison and Martin to ensure a seamless transition.

Incoming Construction Director, Andy Harper, has a solid construction background with over 30 years in the industry and consistent success at the annual NHBC Awards.  Starting from humble beginnings as a bricklaying apprentice at the age of 16 Andy rapidly worked his way up the career ladder being promoted through the ranks to site manager and, more recently to the role of construction manager at another well-known national construction firm.

With over 18 years experience of selling property in the UK and Russia under his belt, Alastair joins the team following a move from his role as Senior Sales Manager at Barratt Homes Mercia.  Prior to joining Barratts Alastair was the International Director of Sales at the Yoo Group in Russia.

Andy Peters concluded: “I have worked alongside both Andy and Alastiar as their MD for a number of years and personally mentored them both.  Knowing their skills and work ethic I feel confident that they will hit the ground running ensuring that the South Midlands region continues to deliver high quality new homes and the level of service that our customers have come to expect from us.”
