Acorns Children's Hospice receives funding boost
07 February 2022
Acorns Children’s Hospice, which provides lifeline care to children and families across the West Midlands, has received a funding boost.
Persimmon Homes Central has donated £1,000 to the charity through its Community Champions scheme, a donation that will help Acorns, which provides specialist palliative care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, fund a Family Team Worker for a year.
Rachel Learmonth, Partnership Manager at Acorns, said: “We are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation, which will directly benefit the children and families at Acorns by supporting the delivery of our specialist Family Services Team.
“This incredible donation of £1,000 will fund a Family Team Worker for a family for a whole year, providing vital emotional and psychosocial support for a family when they need it most.”
Acorns has continued to provide its children’s hospice care every single day of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the past year, Acorns has cared for over 700 children and young people and almost 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved.
