A Coventry baby bank charity that helps children in families experiencing financial difficulty has received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes Central through its Building Futures campaign.
The donation to Baby Godiva will pay for consumables such as nappies, formula milk, wipes and toiletries.
Isabelle Edgar-McCabe from Baby Godiva said: “We supply free of charge pre-loved and new nursery items and consumables to families experiencing poverty or destitution, helping to recycle and provide for those that may not be able to afford them.
“We have provided assistance more than 1,000 times in the last two years and the projected figures for children being born into poverty and destitution in Coventry suggest that number is set to rise again in the next three years.
“We want to make sure that our service is available to as many of these children as possible helping to ensure they are clean, well fed, clothed and have a safe place to sleep.”
