An Essex woman has swapped the salon for the show home to start a new career with Persimmon Homes Essex.
Becky Elliott had worked as a beauty therapist for nine years but decided to hang up her blusher brush to start a new challenge as trainee sales advisor with Persimmon Homes Essex.
Becky, who lives in Chelmsford, is currently helping house hunters find their dream property at Persimmon Homes’ The Village development in Aveley. "I’d been a beauty therapist for a number of years and just fancied a change,” said Becky. “I wanted to find something where I could move forward in life. I knew someone who already worked in the company and they mentioned the job opening. It’s a great opportunity for me.”
Becky has only been in the job for a matter of weeks but she has already begun working through Persimmon’s trainee programme. “I’m really enjoying it,” added Becky. “Every day is different and it is really satisfying seeing people coming into the marketing suite for the first time and eventually walking out as a home owner.”
Norman Sharpe, sales director from Persimmon Homes Essex, said: “Our trainee schemes are an important part of the business and help to produce the workforce of the future. We are continually looking for new trainees. We’re really pleased to welcome Becky on board. She is keen to learn, is great with the customers and has many of the attributes we look for in our staff.”
The show home and marketing suite is open at The Village from 11am to 6pm, Thursday to Monday. The development is made up of 99 homes and 19 apartments, making up 118 units in total, offering a wide selection of properties.
