Best friends continue to follow in each other’s footsteps

06 March 2020

They’re best friends, they’re work colleagues – and now they are starting out in motherhood at the same time too.

Persimmon Homes West Wales sales advisers Sophie Griffiths and Danielle Anstee have been inseparable for the best part of a decade.

The Swansea duo met eight years ago working in a hair salon. They both then decided upon a change of career – and the pair joined Persimmon Homes as trainee sales advisors.

And now Sophie and Danielle are both currently on maternity leave having had their first children just six weeks apart.

Danielle gave birth to her daughter Marcie at the end of July, and Sophie had her son Cody in the middle of September.

Danielle, 24, said: “We knew we were going to have children at the same time! We’ve been best friends for eight years now and done everything together.”

Sophie, 25, added: “We were always going to have children at the same time, it was fate. We have already joked about setting the kids up and getting them married off so we can become family.”

Sophie joined Persimmon in 2014 as a trainee sales advisor and immediately loved the busy and active side of the role. After a glowing review from her friend, Danielle decided to join Persimmon Homes shortly after.

Since then, the pair have become full time sales advisors, operating across various developments in the West Wales region.

And they’ve both also bought Persimmon houses – though they did opt for different developments, a full five miles apart.

“I’ve really enjoyed working at Persimmon Homes, it’s never a dull day,” Sophie said. “I’m looking forward to getting back to it after maternity leave.”

Danielle agreed: “It’s a great company to work for. Being a sales advisor allows me to meet so many new people and it’s such an active job.”

Sharon Bouhali, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales region, said: “Danielle and Sophie are both great young women and it’s nice to see they have struck up such a friendship.

“We look forward to welcoming them back into the office later in the year.”
