Blathanaid steps onto the property ladder

Blathanaid Ulyett moved into her new Persimmon home at Parc Brynderi, on Pendderi Road, with her partner Leah last week.
Blathanaid opted for the convenience of a new build after the purchase of another property fell through late in the day.
Now she’s excited about putting her stamp her on the property.
“I’m thrilled to have bought my first home,” she said. “I was living around the corner with my parents, and a house became available over the road. It was a property which required some work but ticked all the boxes.
“I had my heart set on the house, but it fell through, and it was really disappointing.
“I had a chat with the sales advisors at Parc Brynderi, and they showed me how much more straightforward it would be buying a new build as a first-time buyer as there’s no chain or estate agents to worry about and Persimmon could recommend a solicitor.
“It really was much simpler. I reserved in February, and now we’re in.”
Blathanaid has purchased a two-bedroom Morden style property.
And she was also able to use the Government’s Help to Buy – Wales scheme, meaning she only needed to find a five per cent deposit, with a further 20 per cent coming as a shared equity loan, repayable within 25 years.
“It’s brilliant to be on the property ladder and Help to Buy – Wales was a huge help,” Blathanaid said.
“I’ve already had a painter in but working on the garden with artificial grass and paving slabs will be in the first big project.”
Persimmon is building 240 houses at Parc Brynderi, in a range of two, three and four-bedroom house types.
