Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford has received a £3,000 donation after successfully applying for funding with our Community Champions scheme.
The hospice this week hosted Deputy Council Leader Imram Khan and his fellow ward Councillors for a formal presentation with Persimmon representatives.
Head of Nursing Sue Hogston and Fundraiser Edson Masunda were on hand to receive the award as well as provide a tour of the facilities available to patients.
Edson Masunda from Marie Curie Bradford said: “We are profoundly grateful to Persimmon for their generous £3,000 donation.
“This contribution enables Marie Curie to sustain essential frontline nursing and hospice care, operate a vital support line, and provide comprehensive resources on end-of-life care and bereavement.
“This support really does empower us to make a real difference in the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses.”
Councillor Imran Khan, Deputy Leader of Bradford Council said: “It was a privilege to meet the team at Marie Curie Bradford who do such an outstanding job.
“Receiving this funding will mean that the hospice is able to provide even more support to those patients and their families in the district who need their help.
“I want to thank Persimmon for their Community Champions scheme which is making a difference to people’s lives.”
Christopher Hull, Managing Director of Persimmon West Yorkshire added. “We’re delighted to be able to support the fantastic work of Marie Curie Bradford in this way.
“It’s a fantastic facility with a dedicated team who are clearly passionate about helping the people they look after.
“We hope this donation will go some way in helping the hospice continue to offer the excellent care and support they provide both patients and their families.”
Our Community Champions scheme is open to all local charities, schools and community groups looking for funding. £180,000 is available every quarter with winners receiving between £1,000 and £6,000.
