Capital interest in Dorset development

12 March 2021

A Dorset new-build development is attracting the attention of Londoners looking for a shift in lifestyle and the freedom from the capital.

Stacey Harris, sales director for Persimmon Homes South West, has noted an increase in enquiries about the Corelli development in Sherborne from Londoners.

“I don’t know whether it is a knock-on effect from people being cooped up in smaller homes and within the confines of an urban environment or due to changes in personal or financial circumstances, but we have definitely seen a marked increase in the number of enquiries from people in London,” she said.

“A shift in working patterns and requirements may also have had an influence with more people working from home on a permanent or even a part-time basis. With easy access to trains and the mainline to London it is easy to commute to the office once or twice a week.”

“Customers have taken advantage of our part exchange schemes too, and it has seen families moving from smaller city homes without gardens to five-bedroom detached properties with plenty of outdoor space and the opportunity to create a study, accommodating the need to have a separate workspace.”

Stacey added: “Corelli is a major development for us and as we move to the construction of phase four we have just opened our new show home.”

“The show home was built to demonstrate the high quality, flexible living space offered Corelli and has a stylish open plan kitchen/breakfast with doors onto the rear garden. There's also a well-proportioned living room, separate dining room, downstairs cloakroom and handy utility with outside access. Upstairs there are five bedrooms - bedroom one with en-suite - a large family-sized bathroom and handy storage cupboard.”

Phase four of the development is also selling well and offers a range of homes suitable for first-time buyers, downsizers and growing families.

Stacey added: “First-time buyers at Corelli can access the Government-backed Help to Buy initiative, while those with an existing property to sell can ask us about our Home Change and Part Exchange schemes, which can significantly reduce the time and money spent in a chain.”

“To find out more, visit Corelli or call our on-site sales advisor on 01935 319497.”
