Cash boost for Malmesbury Primary School
09 December 2020
A primary school in Malmesbury has received a £1,000 cash boost from our Wessex region.
Each month the Persimmon Homes Wessex donates up to £1,000 each to two groups or individuals through the match funded scheme.
The primary school will use the windfall to develop a dedicated outdoor learning space for Year 1 students. Clare Stone, who applied for the funding on behalf of Malmesbury Primary School, said: “Thank you so much Persimmon Homes, this is wonderful news. This funding will help us to develop an outside learning space for our students. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 our fundraising events have been affected, so this £1,000 could not have come at a better time. This outdoor space will mean so much to the children, providing a hands-on learning experience so they can have free-flow play indoors and outdoors, which is particularly important at this time.”
Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, said: “We are delighted to help students at Malmesbury Primary School. The school has been working very hard to fundraise for their new creative outdoor space and hope the new space will be enjoyed by generations of pupils to come. If people have been unsuccessful in their Community Champions application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again, and hopefully they will become our next recipient.”
