Cash help for Rothwell causes
30 July 2021
Two Rothwell good causes have each been handed £1,000 from Persimmon’s Community Champions fund.
The Midlands regional team selected Montsaye Academy and community event NozzFest to receive the funding through the initiative which supports organisations in areas where the company is building.
Claire Dearsley, sales director of Persimmon Midlands, said: “Our Woodland Valley development is already providing new homes for people in Rothwell, and we feel it is important to support the wider community.
“Montsaye Academy is just a short walk from our site and, from September, the school will be hosting a specialist Football Academy for talented Sixth form students. The academy side will compete in the Association of Colleges League for the East Midlands, and we are proud that the players will be sporting the Persimmon Homes logo on their kit. We wish the students every success – on and off the pitch.”
Information about the Academy can be found at www.montsaye.northants.sch.uk
The NozzFest event is being held at Rothwell Conservative Club in memory of local man Niall McCormack to raise funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance service.
Claire said: “Niall was very well known in the area and sadly died aged just 22. This event is planned to bring all the community together in his memory. The day will include football, bands, a hog roast, stalls and a bouncy castle as well as a fundraising raffle. We were honoured to help support the event and wish everyone a very successful day.”
More information about the event can be found on the NozzFest Facebook page.
